Peter Woods- Planning Team Lead, Cowichan Tribes

Peter is a dedicated environmental professional with over three decades of experience in the environmental field. Having worked for notable organizations like Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Parks Canada and BC Parks, Peter has developed his expertise in environmental protection, sustainability, and resource management. His academic background in biological sciences includes a focus on finfish aquaculture, the impacts on the marine environment, and the Kitkatla First Nation, which was the subject of his graduate studies.

Throughout his career, Peter has been involved in a range of government initiatives, including his current role in government-to-government Xwulqw’selu -Koksilah River planning. Passionate about conservation, Peter is dedicated to using his knowledge to promote sustainable practices and policies that benefit both the environment and Cowichan Tribes. His work continues to be driven by a deep respect for nature and a commitment to future generations.
